“I’ll believe anything, no matter how wild and ridiculous, if there is evidence for it.” Isaac Asimov

A man in Stevens County, Washington, called the sheriff’s office seeking clarification on whether he would face jail time for shooting a Bigfoot during a planned hunt in the Colville National Forest. Expressing his intention to target only male Sasquatches, he sought guidance after being redirected from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife. Washington, known for its high number of Bigfoot encounters, has seen some counties enact laws protecting the creatures. For instance, Skamania County passed a law in 1969 imposing hefty fines and jail time for harming Sasquatch, while Stevens County’s stance remains unclear.
