In the summer of 1986, Rob Levine, a recent Culinary Institute of America graduate, encountered a puzzling sight while driving home from work—a UFO hovering silently in the sky. Initially dismissing it as a possible hallucination, Levine’s skepticism dissolved as he observed the craft’s inexplicable movements, fluctuating size, and shifting colored lights. This encounter was not isolated; the Hudson Valley region experienced a surge in UFO sightings throughout the 1980s and ’90s, with over 5,000 reports from credible witnesses. Known as the “Westchester Boomerang,” these sightings included hundreds of similar accounts of V-shaped crafts adorned with colored lights, sparking widespread intrigue and speculation. Today, the Pine Bush UFO & Paranormal Museum continues to document and explore the phenomenon, estimating thousands of sightings in the region.
